About Butler Sherborn
The early years
Butler Sherborn was founded in September 1991 by Sam Butler and David Sherborn Hoare from a small office in Burford. The partnership grew for the next few years based on the trade of Estate Agency, Residential Lettings, Estate and Land Management and Property Consultancy. In May 1995 we opened a second office in Tetbury, Gloucestershire which focused mainly on Estate Agency and Residential Lettings.
A third office was opened in April 1996 in Stow-on-the-Wold when Butler Sherborn took over Hurley Lloyd Thorpe. This office also concentrated on Residential Estate Agency and Lettings.
The first ten years of operation saw Butler Sherborn grow its turnover from approximately £500,000 to £1.5 million, and increase its staff numbers to 25.
The Cotswold Property Specialists
In the early 21st Century we brought in our new lime leaf logo and slogan - the Cotswold Property Specialists. These helped to reinforce our Mission Statement of being recognised and used as the preferred market choice of estate agents, estate business management and property consultants in the Cotswolds. We opened our fourth office in Cirencester in June 2004, and with Cirencester being the capital of the Cotswolds, we made this our head office.
Looking to the future
More recently we have merged our Tetbury office with the established Cirencester office. This has both strengthened our market position and combined our considerable resources and expertise under one roof.We now believe we have the office structure and the reputation to grow further and to provide the principal alternative choice to the main corporate agents within the Cotswolds property market.
