The Farming Recovery Fund provides support to farmers following extreme flooding events, contributing to the costs of the clean-up operation and to uninsurable losses. It is now open for applications from farmers in parts of Gloucestershire.

From the 13th to 15th November 2019 – Worcestershire and Gloucestershire were affected by the exceptional rainfall. The Avon reached capacity overtopped flood banks and seriously flooded agricultural land, this is where funding is being targeted.  The map below highlights the Avon in Worcestershire and Gloucestershire, downstream from Evesham (excluding tributaries).

Satellite data is available that provides an indication of the flooded agricultural land that is situated alongside the overtopped flood defences in the relevant river catchment areas and will be cross referenced with any grant application.

The Fund is to help those farmers who have been affected by the ‘impact’ of flooding, including:

•Access to your agricultural land or farm buildings is cut off;

•Areas of your agricultural land no longer being stock proof;

•Debris on your agricultural land;

•Damage to riverbanks on the field edge

The money contributes to the costs of reinstating and repairing the affected agricultural land (but only certain items and activities are eligible for funding). The minimum grant available is £500 and the maximum grant available is £25,000
