Stow-on-the-Wold is an enchanting Cotswold town of Roman origin set 800ft up on the Fosse Way running from Bath to Leicester. It’s fortunes were largely built on the medieval wool trade, and it’s pretty Cotswold stone buildings reflect it’s history.
The Market Square, together with the church of St Edward’s, dominate the centre of the town, which offers many good coffee shops, pubs and excellent restaurants, as well as a superb, traditional butcher, Lambournes, and independent bookshop, Borzoi.
