*30 minutes from Soho Farmhouse - 20 minutes from Daylesford Organic Farm*

Burford is just over 70 miles from Chelsea, and with a fair wind you can drive there in an hour and three-quarters. There is an excellent selection of railway stations in the area that provide regular and direct services to London. Charlbury (direct to Paddington in just over an hour and a quarter), Oxford Parkway (direct to Marylebone in under an hour), Hanborough (direct to Paddington in just over an hour) and Kingham (direct to Paddington in under an hour and a half).

Kingham is a quintessential Cotswolds village with two very good pubs, The Wild Rabbit & The Kingham Plough. The village is also home to the award-winning Daylesford Organic Farm (www.daylesford.com) which has a farm shop, home interiors and a restaurant. Kingham is only 20 minutes from Burford.

Burford is a picturesque medieval wool town with an array of boutique shops, England’s oldest pharmacy and variety of excellent eateries. The Lamb Inn on Sheep Street is very well known, offering a bar, restaurant and accommodation. Lynwood & Co Café on the High Street provide organic and hand selected coffee and work exclusively with local and independent producers. There is also Honeycott (www.shakeandsnack.com/), on the site of the former Post Office. The former post mistress, Tracy Price, owns and runs it. Everything is freshly made to order, all the cakes are baked in-house and they offer a vast selection of shakes and smoothies. It is dog friendly to the point of offering dog ice cream (providing nutrients such as omega 3) in the summer months!

Burford is also only half an hour from Soho Farmhouse. Burford Garden Company is a few minutes outside of the town (www.burford.co.uk).It is a stylish garden centre with rustic chic home interiors, a gift shop, a beautiful selection of children’s wooden toys and clothing, a cafe and art gallery. It has an extensive and very good range of plants with knowledgeable garden staff.

There are numerous gorgeous Cotswold villages to discover and explore in the area, and only slightly farther afield there are Blenheim Palace, the dreaming spires of Oxford and the Regency spa town of Cheltenham, all well connected to London by the A40.

Oxford and Cheltenham offer an extremely good selection of excellent private and state schools for all age groups. Burford School, at the top end of the town, is a long - established Secondary state school with boarding facilities as well.

The Burford area, which encompasses Oxfordshire & Gloucestershire, has so much to offer within striking distance of London.
