Butler Sherborn advise on large-scale renewables, but can explore ways to tackle energy efficiency and renewable generation in historic buildings.

Whilst Butler Sherborn enjoyed a 30% increase in turnover in 2015 we have exceeded that by a further 50% during 2016.

Growth has been across all sectors but with Expert Witness valuations and inheritance tax succession planning showing greatest growth. We undertake professional valuation for all sorts of reasons, but here’s how it breaks down for the year.

  • Bank Security 28%
  • Capital Gains Tax 24%
  • Inheritance Tax/Probate 24%
  • Divorce and Litigation 12%
  • Stock Taking 6%
  • Other 6%

This growth is founded on the time we take to understand what the client needs, working closely with their other professional advisors and creating “value” in the work that we produce. Taking on a additional RICS registered valuer for 2017 to compliment the 4 we already have will help deliver further growth.

Renewable Energy

Whilst many agents will be doing far less renewable energy related work with the popularity of solar PV having dropped back, our technical capability, contacts within the energy industry and innovative approach has helped us achieve our most profitable year in 2016; growth of 33%. The majority of that growth has been through creating new opportunities such as brokering better returns for the producers of green gas from AD plants, advising on large-scale renewables or exploring ways to tackle energy efficiency and renewable generation in historic buildings.

Pip Menzel - November 2019

At all points I have found Butler Sherborn to of gone above and beyond to help with the process of selling our house. They offer a service that is modern in its approach yet old-fashioned and uniquely personable. We have found they're thoughtful and their knowledge of the market is second to none.
