Set on the ancient wold, with an uninterrupted view over the Evenlode Valley, the beautiful, grassed amphitheatre and splendid Pavilion provide a magical setting for excellent, inspiring, and uplifting entertainment for everyone

The Amphitheatre has been created in memory of Janet Cockell, whose love of telling stories, the performing arts, and the Cotswolds inspired the family to build this venue. Janet’s husband, Keith had the vision  and co-owner, Jono Dudfield sculpted the venue. Janet’s daughter, Judy Reaves, an established West End Theatre designer, heads the creative team, together with her husband, Production Manager, David Hamblett. Their son, Charlie Hamblett is an actor (Killing Eve, The Secret Agent, Cider with Rosie) and takes the role of the Young Laurie Lee in ‘As I walked out One Midsummer Morning'.

The Amphitheatre at Berrybank Park is a new outdoor performance space located in the heart of the beautiful Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Constructed with the smallest footprint possible; the design has utilized the existing natural topography, by skillfully sculpting the ground with the minimum of mechanical earth-working, to form a performance space with an audience capacity of 500.

Alongside the Amphitheatre, the Pavilion hosts part of the performance programme, as well as providing a luxurious front of house space. In extreme weather this 18m diameter tent will be an alternative venue to the Amphitheatre.

From moonlit plays to open air concerts, the Amphitheatre offers a stunning new venue with a sensational line up for their first season. The opening show is Shakespeare’s Globe on Tour Julius Caesar on Tuesday 14th June. From family shows The Pantaloons Wind in the Willows and Illyria -Peter Pan to The Eight Seasons playing Vivaldis’ Four Seasons, and Outdoor Cinema showing’ Moulin Rouge’ to ‘Paddington 2’, there is something for everyone through the season.

Gates open an hour before the performances. Bring a picnic, or take advantage of the pre-booked food from the theatre kitchen’s flame grill, directed by local chefs, along with exquisite hampers - check the web site for details.

There is a great bar onsite serving the best local beers and beverages.

Bring your own seating and or picnic blankets- there are collapsible seats and blankets for hire for the forgetful! It is best to come prepared for the Cotswolds climate - with jumpers, raincoats, galoshes, sunhats and sun cream all advised.

There is ample parking with lovely loos, and the safety net of the beautiful Pavilion, the Show will go on regardless!

This wonderful venue is also available for private hire.
