Nestled in the picturesque village of Ewen, just a stone’s throw from Cirencester, this delightful 16th-century pub has long been a much-loved local landmark. Now, after a careful and considered restoration, The Wild Duck has officially reopened its doors and wow what a return it was!

This Grade II listed building has been lovingly revived, embracing its rich history and wonderfully quirky character while remaining firmly rooted in its Cotswold surroundings. Original features have been preserved and celebrated, with exposed stonework, timber beams and roaring fireplaces creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. At the same time, thoughtful contemporary touches ensure the space feels both elegant and inviting.

A Grand Opening to Remember

The Wild Duck made its much-anticipated comeback this weekend with an exclusive, invitation-only opening event for local residents and it certainly did not disappoint! With over two hundred guests in attendance, the evening was nothing short of spectacular.

From the moment guests arrived, the atmosphere was electric. Fire performers lit up the entrance, live music filled the air, and guests were treated to exceptional food and drink. Champagne flowed freely, oysters were served in abundance, and at the heart of the evening was a show-stopping Argentine-style barbecue. The smoky aromas drifting from the open fire grill and the generous platters is hopefully a glimpse of what we can look forward to with excellent food which is centred around outstanding quality produce. The entire evening was joyous!

A New Chapter Begins

Steeped in history and charm, The Wild Duck now embarks on an exciting new chapter under the leadership of the highly successful duo Sam Pearman and Georgie Pearman. The pair have overseen a complete transformation of the property, including the design of 20 beautifully appointed guest rooms. Each room thoughtfully reflects the inn’s heritage while introducing a contemporary edge and blending comfort, character and understated luxury.

The Wild Duck joins the Pearmans’ acclaimed Country Creatures collection, alongside sister establishments such as The Double Red Duke and The Mason's Arms, both of which have earned a loyal following for their relaxed yet refined approach to dining and hospitality.

A Destination Worth Visiting

With its historic charm, stylish interiors, welcoming atmosphere and ambitious culinary offering, The Wild Duck is poised to become a true destination once again, whether the occasion is a relaxed drink by the fire, a nice meal out, or a countryside escape in one of its beautifully designed rooms.

If the opening weekend is anything to go by, this cherished local pub is set for a bright and bustling future and we are delighted to see it’s doors back open after all these years!

January Market Comment

January has seen us firmly up and running across the Cotswolds. Activity has been encouraging, with positive levels of interest and a busy start to the year. We have already agreed a good number of sales across our three offices in a range of different price points, which is a positive indicator of buyer intent following what was a very cautious 2025, with low confidence and many delays.
