Farmed, fermented and distilled in the Cotswolds, BLACKLION is Europe’s first sheep’s milk vodka

BLACKLION is a crisp and flavourful 40% abv vodka, with a full body, an impossibly smooth finish and warming afternotes. Every delicious bottle is made in the Cotswolds, using milk from Tim & Tan’s much-loved flock of Black Lion sheep.
BLACKLION’s unique and much-awarded taste, including notes of edelweiss, all comes from fermenting and triple-distilling the whey left over after cheese-making – sugar rich whey that would otherwise go to waste.
What makes BLACKLION rare sheep’s milk vodka doubly rare is the milk from Tim & Tan’s unique flock of Black Lions, all bred and grazed on the vodka farm’s limestone pastures.
As a sipping vodka, BLACKLION is best served sub zero, straight from the freezer over ice, and preferably outdoors as a bit of a reward. Or you can enjoy its unique and delicious flavour in an exciting BLACKLION cocktail.
Sheaf House Farm, Blockley near Moreton-in- Marsh was originally bought by Tim Spittle’s parents over 50 years ago. Taking over the farm and ensuring it’s survival together with his wife Tan, Tim has diversified, at the same time as helping to secure the survival of the Valais Blacknose breed of sheep. These rare sheep originate in the Swiss Alps, hence the Matterhorn’s appearance on every bottle.
Acutely conscious of the need to care for their farm and all aspects of the natural environment, Tim and Tan have taken meticulous care to ensure that their business innovations and development of BLACKLION have been, and remain, environmentally sustainable at all stages.
Tim & Tan are incredibly proud of the many prestigious taste awards BLACKLION vodka has won. However as farmers, the recognition meaning most perhaps is their 2022 Farmers Weekly Award as Diversification Farmer of the Year.
Sheaf House Farm, the home of BLACKLION Vodka, has opened it’s gates, offering Farm Tours and Tastings, where all are welcome to see the farm, the sheep and the milking, as well as having the opportunity to taste the superb BLACKLION cocktails at the bar and buy the stunningly packaged and delicious BLACKLION vodka.

January Market Comment
January has seen us firmly up and running across the Cotswolds. Activity has been encouraging, with positive levels of interest and a busy start to the year. We have already agreed a good number of sales across our three offices in a range of different price points, which is a positive indicator of buyer intent following what was a very cautious 2025, with low confidence and many delays.
