Pub of the Month - The Five Alls at Filkins

New Owner Takes On The Five Alls at Filkins, Oxfordshire
The Five Alls in Filkins has been taken over and fully refurbished. Formerly general manager of The Crazy Bear hotels and restaurant in Stadhampton, Tom took over The Five Alls in February this year and has since recruited general manager, Robert Wilks, and new head chef, Lucian Juganaru. Together they are heading up a friendly team of well-trained and knowledgeable staff. Tom has overseen a complete refresh of the Five Alls nine rooms and the pub throughout.
Head chef, Lucian Juganaru, is ensuring that his well-considered, seasonally changing, à la carte and set menus celebrate the very best seasonal ingredients found both locally and from around the UK, to create modern British and European-inspired dishes, alongside topnotch pub classics.
The Five Alls characterful interiors have been enhanced throughout with sensitively restored, original features, such as rendered Cotswold stone walls, flagstone and oak floors, inglenook fireplace, exposed beams and Georgian sash windows, which complement the Cotswolds chic décor to create cosy, welcoming and stylish interiors. Original works of contemporary art decorate walls, alongside some quirkier touches such as antique gramophone speakers upcycled as pendant lights in the main bar, which lies adjacent to another snug drinking area with open fire. Its two dining rooms seat up to 100 and can be closed off for private events. Outside, there’s a lovely terrace and lawned garden planted with apple trees with tables shaded with parasols for summer drinking and dining.
The relaxed, welcoming atmosphere at Five Alls makes it ideal for families with children of all ages to dine and stay. Dogs are welcome in the pub’s bar and dining spaces and in two dog-friendly rooms.
The Five Alls nine stylish and comfy bedrooms have just been given a refresh and are simply decorated in a calming neutral palette with luxurious touches including crisp linen, duck-down duvets and Bramley toiletries. Doubles and Kingsize rooms above the pub cost from £100 a night and Cottage Garden rooms with Super Kingsize beds cost £140 a night, all on a B&B basis. A Family Suite, sleeping two adults and up to three children, start at £140 a night. Extra beds for children are available and cost £20 per child and £20 a night per dog.
