The House of Lords have now completed their scrutiny of the Renter’s Rights Bill and yesterday The House of Commons finished their final stage of reviewing the Bill, before now going for Royal Assent.

It is widely expected that the Bill will become law later this month, however plans for implementation and those dates have not yet been released by Commons. Will the government impose implementation as soon as Royal Assent has been made, or will they allow the industry time to adjust and prepare fully? This is yet to be determined, however we are keeping a close eye on the details as the emerge.

There are still some finer details within the Bill which need to be ironed out, however it is now clear that the lettings industry is about to embark on a major change. Butler Sherborn are working internally and with our solicitors to ensure we continue deliver the most up to date information and lettings service, to our clients.
