Sophie Lane's Cotswold Connections & Cotswold Favourites
Born in Cheltenham, I have lived in and around Cirencester for most of my life, minus my university years and 3 years in London!
Favourite Pub:
My favourite pub is definitely The Sherborne Arms at Northleach. Epic food, great wines, cosy atmosphere, and run by the fabulous Peter Creed and Tom Noest.
Favourite Restaurant:
Roots & Seeds in Cirencester. A clever menu of delicious homegrown vegetables with a modern twist. Situated in Cirencester Park so ideal after, or before, a dog walk.
Favourite Cotswold Shop:
Walter Bull & Sons, Cirencester. Established in 1815, this family run business has such charm and the most passionate caring staff. Gorgeous jewellery – I would buy the shop if I could!
Favourite Walk:
Bibury to Coln St Aldwyns and back again. Through the valley, fields and woodland, alongside the meandering River Coln. A pub and café at each end, perfect!
Favourite Place to Visit/garden/historic building/or similar:
Giffords Circus. The travelling village-green circus that brings back the child in us all. Enchanting and full of fun and laughter. The circus is a must see.
Favourite Activity:
Dog walking. Anywhere and everywhere in the Cotswolds! From the Stroud Valleys to the north Cotswold hills.
Best Kept Secret in the Cotswolds:
Cotswold Lakes Brew Co. An independent craft brewery established in 2020 with a wonderful authentic tap room in Somerford Keynes. Open Friday nights from March through the summer get down to enjoy delicious beers, local wines and fabulous live music.
Dream/Chosen Holiday Destination of out the Shire:
Cornwall. From Polzeath down to Cape Cornwall, anywhere along the northern coastline for stunning golden beaches, delicious seafood and rough magical seas. My favourite two beaches are Constantine Bay and Holywell Bay.

The residential market around Stow-on-the-Wold has been incredibly active during this current period of political uncertainty, and there have been some notable sales. Many properties are still selling privately under competitive bidding. That being said, the headline guide price needs to be realistic, and the best results are still on the turnkey properties.
