Bledington has always been a popular place but increasingly so over the recent years. One of the most picturesque villages, with a variety of lovely houses overlooking the green it offers its residents a quintessential Cotswold environment.

However, most importantly behind the charming exterior is a village with an inclusive and active community across all age groups. At a time when the traditional village shop has become a rarity, Bledington boasts one of the best stocked café and shops in the Cotswolds. Run by a team of volunteers and being community owned, it has become a firm favourite with locals and visitors alike. It goes from strength to strength supplying a wide range of products, many fresh and local, with a fine selection of wines and even its own local Bledington Gin. The cafe is a popular meeting place. Check it out: https://bledingtonshop.com/

Another established and award-winning favourite is The Kings Head pub. Owned by Archie and Nicola Orr-Ewing, their team have provided a welcoming pub for locals with consistently good food, and beautifully decorated rooms for those passing through. Sunday lunch is always particularly popular with families so make sure you book ahead. https://www.thekingsheadinn.net/

We are particularly lucky to have a choice of superb primary schools located in some of best villages and Bledington Primary School is one of the best. Set in lovely grounds and with the motto “Engage, Enjoy, Challenge” the team have created a motivated and hard-working school in a happy and safe environment. www.bledington.gloucs.sch.uk/welcome/

Added to which, proximity to the neighbouring village of Kingham with a mainline station straight to Paddington and Daylesford Farmshop and Spa make the area so sought after, as well as immediate access to wonderful walking from the doorstep. Oxfordshire Way and Diamond Way and near to the Macmillan Way and the D'Arcy Dalton Way.

Properties in Bledington are always in demand. Recently Under Offer is Barn Cottage. A beautifully presented village house with a stunning landscaped garden, a stone barn and private parking. Guide Price £1,250,000.

January Market Comment

January has seen us firmly up and running across the Cotswolds. Activity has been encouraging, with positive levels of interest and a busy start to the year. We have already agreed a good number of sales across our three offices in a range of different price points, which is a positive indicator of buyer intent following what was a very cautious 2025, with low confidence and many delays.

Three Quintessential Cotswold Cottages – Full of Character & Charm

With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, there’s something undeniably romantic about the idea of escaping to a cosy Cotswold cottage. Think honey-coloured stone walls, crackling log fires and soft lamplight spilling across plush sofas - perfect for long conversations, shared glasses of wine and slow, unhurried mornings. In winter, the Cotswolds reveal a quieter kind of beauty, with misty lanes, frosted fields and snug village pubs just a gentle stroll away. It’s a setting steeped in charm and warmth, and utterly quintessential in its British appeal.

Snowdrops in the Cotswolds: A Winter Highlight at Painswick

As winter begins to loosen its grip on the Cotswolds, one of the most uplifting signs of the changing seasons quietly emerges, snowdrops. These delicate white flowers, often pushing through frost-hardened ground, bring a sense of hope and renewal, and nowhere is this more beautifully displayed than the snowdrops at Painswick Rococo Garden.
